New in Theater: The Silent Magic of the Woods in the Vosges - A Family's Ancestral Bond With the Vosges Forests Comes to Life on Film
A new film explores the deep bond between a family and the ancient forests of the Vosges. For decades, Michel Munier has spent countless nights hidden among the trees, studying wildlife in silence. His ancestral passion for nature has now passed to his son and grandson, shaping their lives in the wilderness.
Michel Munier's connection to the forest began long ago. He has spent over 800 nights in the Vosges, blending into the landscape beneath a favourite fir tree. His hideaway lets him observe animals without disturbance, becoming part of the wild world around him.
His son, Vincent, first joined him at just twelve years old. Guided by his father, he learned to read animal tracks and recognise their habitats. That early fascination never faded—Vincent later shared the same knowledge with his own son, Simon. Now, the three generations embark on a journey together. Their story unfolds in the upcoming film The Whisper of the Forests, set for release on February 19. The project captures their quiet, patient exploration of a world few ever see.
The film documents a rare family legacy rooted in the Vosges' old-growth forests. Michel's lifetime of observation, Vincent's inherited skills, and Simon's growing curiosity form its heart. Their journey offers a glimpse into a hidden natural realm, preserved through generations.
