New Book Demystifying Cybersecurity Aims to Educate India's Digital Generation
A new book on cybersecurity was launched recently, aiming to simplify complex concepts for a wider audience. The event brought together key figures in technology and government to discuss the growing importance of digital security in India. Dr. Durga Prasad Dube introduced his book, Demystifying Cybersecurity, at the launch. He stated that the book breaks down intricate processes into simple language. Dube also expressed confidence that it would help readers debunk myths and prepare for future challenges in the field.
The launch was attended by prominent guests, including Ashishkumar Chauhan, NSE’s managing director and CEO, Lt. Gen. Rajesh Pant (Retd.), and Siddharth Vishwanath. Chauhan noted India’s milestone of surpassing 100 crore internet connections. He also pointed out that mobile phones now pose one of the biggest cybersecurity risks.
Brijesh Singh, Maharashtra’s principal secretary, spoke about the need for a societal shift in thinking. He argued that true security in cybersecurity depends on mindset, not just technology or rules. Singh also stressed its role in protecting data, free speech, and personal information. He encouraged attendees to write blogs as a way to contribute to the AI era.
After the launch, a panel discussion took place. Its theme was Cybersecurity Beyond Technology: Leadership, Resilience and Trust in the AI Era. The book launch highlighted the need for clearer communication around cybersecurity. It also underscored the role of public awareness in addressing digital threats. The discussions reinforced the idea that a proactive mindset is essential for tackling modern challenges in the field.
