Philippines braces for drought as PAGASA warns of dry spell by late 2026

Parts of the Philippines will face dry conditions starting in late November 2026. The state weather bureau, PAGASA, has warned that some areas may even experience drought. Camarines Sur is among those projected to have three consecutive months of below-normal rainfall. PAGASA initially identified 47 areas likely to face dry weather. However, the effects will not be strongly felt until December due to the northeast monsoon. Warmer and more humid conditions are then expected from February to April 2027.

Before the dry spell, possible flooding may occur between July and September 2026 because of the southwest monsoon. PAGASA advises the public to stay updated through its website, official platforms, and the PANAHON mobile app. The public is urged to practice proper water management, even at the household level.
