Orbital Launches US Expansion with Miami as Cross-Border Payments Hub
Orbital, a global payment orchestration platform, is expanding into the US market. The company has chosen Miami, Florida as its base to support cross-border payment flows and digital asset businesses. This move aims to meet growing demand for regulated, enterprise-grade payment infrastructure linking the US with international markets. The decision to enter the US follows rising interest from Orbital’s international clients. These clients need better access to onshore USD settlement infrastructure and stronger support for US-linked counterparties and payment flows. Miami was selected for its role as a hub for businesses serving Latin America and the digital asset sector.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, Orbital will build the core elements of its US operations. This includes pursuing relevant regulatory approvals and money transmission licences as part of a phased entry. The company’s initial focus will be on B2B payment providers, PSPs, cross-border payment businesses, and firms in the crypto and digital asset space.
Orbital already handles around $12 billion in annualised volume across traditional currencies, stablecoins, and over 80 exotic currencies through a single platform. The company holds enterprise-grade compliance credentials, including SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001:2022, CSA Trusted Cloud Provider status, and Cyber Essentials Plus. The recent GENIUS Act has also created a federal framework for US payment stablecoins, further driving activity in this area. Orbital’s US expansion will provide regulated, secure payment infrastructure for businesses connecting the US with global markets. The company’s existing compliance standards and broad currency support position it well for this growth. The phased approach ensures alignment with US regulatory requirements.
