Teen Hospitalized After Drinking Gasoline While Fixing Scooter

A 16-year-old boy in Primorsky Territory was rushed to hospital after swallowing gasoline while repairing his scooter. He had tried to siphon fuel from a canister using his mouth, leading to acute poisoning. Symptoms only became clear after he returned home. The incident occurred during a repair session when the teen used his mouth to draw fuel from a container. He ingested a large amount, triggering poisoning symptoms that appeared later at his residence.

He was admitted to hospital 3.5 hours after the event. Initially placed in intensive care, he was later moved to the paediatric ward for further treatment. Medical staff are closely observing his condition to check for any lasting effects. The Primorsky Territory Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the case. Authorities are reviewing the actions of child welfare services and the boy’s living conditions. The probe aims to determine if any oversight contributed to the incident.
