Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Cebu and Visayas Until July 1
A weather disturbance is set to bring heavy rainfall to Cebu and the rest of Visayas. The Low Pressure Area was last tracked 390 kilometres east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. Residents have been urged to stay vigilant. Pagasa Visayas weather specialist Jhomer Eclarino warned that the disturbance will last from Monday, June 29, to Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Frequent downpours are expected across the region during this period.
Authorities have highlighted the risk of flash floods and landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas. Pagasa Visayas has advised the public to monitor updates and follow guidance from local officials. The warning remains in place for flood- and landslide-prone zones. Residents are encouraged to take precautions and stay informed through official weather bulletins. Coordination with local authorities is strongly recommended.
