New Documentary Explores John Lilly's Wild Legacy of Dolphins, LSD, and Alien Theories

Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired the documentary John Lilly and the Earth Coincidence Control Office. The film explores the life of neurophysiologist and psychonaut John Lilly, known for his work on dolphins, extraterrestrial life, and LSD. It premiered at the 2025 International Film Festival Rotterdam. The documentary was directed by Michael Almereyda and Courtney Stephens. Chloé Sevigny provides the narration, guiding viewers through Lilly’s unconventional research. Interviews feature notable figures such as filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, Scott McVay, Hella McVay, marine biologist Diana Reiss, and artist Gigi Coyle.
