The new approach integrates first-party, partner-built, and custom agents across all business functions. According to Gandhi, the evolution of enterprise AI now supports a multi-layer system. This includes Microsoft’s own agents, solutions from partners, and hundreds of custom agents created by customers themselves.

These agents handle high-volume tasks in finance, operations, and services. They automate supplier communications, account reconciliation, and expense reporting. Businesses decide how much control to keep, based on risk, compliance, and context.

Organisations can choose which workflows run independently and which need human review. The system spans every department, allowing tailored automation at different levels.
