India's space and defence milestones take center stage under Modi's leadership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently highlighted India’s growing achievements in the space sector. During his address, he also inaugurated key facilities and celebrated recent successes in space exploration and defence. A team of young people from Pune attempted to fly drones in conditions resembling those on Mars. After several tries, their drone managed to stay airborne for a short period. The footage reminded Modi of the earlier setback when Chandrayaan lost network coverage, though Chandrayaan-3 later succeeded in its mission.

The Prime Minister also unveiled Skyroot Aerospace’s first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, designed to carry satellites into orbit. He inaugurated Skyroot’s Infinity Campus, a new hub expected to strengthen India’s space industry. Additionally, he opened the world’s largest Leap Engine MRO facility in Hyderabad.

In another development, INS Mahe was formally inducted into the Indian Navy. This step supports India’s push for self-reliance in defence. The Prime Minister’s recent engagements underscore progress in space technology and defence. Skyroot’s new rocket and campus, along with the MRO facility, mark significant advancements. The Navy’s new vessel and the drone test further demonstrate India’s expanding capabilities.
