Kalyan-Dombivli launches bold campaign to revolutionize waste management by 2026
The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation has launched a public awareness campaign on the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026. The drive aims to educate residents about scientific waste segregation and responsible disposal. BJP Group Leader Shashikant Kamble is leading the initiative as its facilitator. The campaign saw strong participation from local residents, women, and youth volunteers. They engaged in civic outreach activities to spread awareness about the new waste management framework. Many attendees pledged to adopt proper waste segregation practices at home.
Kamble stressed the role of corporators in driving the effort forward. He called on them to take charge in their respective wards by organising awareness sessions. As the Lead Facilitator, he also urged households to hand over segregated waste directly to municipal collection vehicles.
KDMC officials highlighted the need for public involvement to ensure the framework’s success. They believe a three-tier partnership between authorities, corporators, and residents will guarantee effective implementation across the city. The campaign marks a push for better waste practices in Kalyan-Dombivli. Residents have committed to segregation, while leaders aim to expand outreach efforts. The new rules are set to take effect with structured support from all levels of the community.
