Eco-run 'We Stand for Cleanliness' cleans up Staraya Stanitsa in record time

An eco-run titled 'We Stand for Cleanliness' recently took place in Staraya Stanitsa. Nine teams participated in the event, which aimed to improve local environmental conditions. Organisers included Armavir’s Department of Agriculture and Processing Industry, the Youth Affairs Office, and the local branch of the Movement of the First. The competition was held along an eco-trail exceeding one kilometre. Each team received two trash bags and gloves to collect household waste. In just 30 minutes, participants gathered 20 bags of trash, totalling 72 kilograms.

The 'Clean Patrol' team from Armavir Mechanical and Technological Institute secured first place. The 'Tornado' team from Armavir Industrial College finished second. The 'Firsts' team from the local Movement of the First branch earned the bronze medal.

After the race, an environmental quiz was held for all participants. Additionally, members of the Krasnodar branch of the Russian Geographical Society assessed the ecological condition of the Zhelezny Rog Cape natural monument, supported by a grant from the Presidential Nature Fund. Armavir has announced plans to host another eco-run this autumn. The event highlighted community efforts to address waste and promote environmental awareness. Local authorities and organisations continue to support such initiatives.
