Three Tornadoes Strike Ohio and Pennsylvania in Weekend Storms

Severe storms swept through parts of eastern Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania over the weekend. The National Weather Service confirmed at least three tornadoes touched down in the region. Strong winds and heavy rain left damage in their wake. In Beaver County, trees and power lines were brought down by the storms. A 50-foot tree fell near a house but caused no harm to the property. No injuries were reported in the area.

The National Weather Service verified a tornado near Anita in Jefferson County. This marked the 17th confirmed tornado in the county since records began in 1880. Crews worked quickly to restore power to most affected homes.

Two more tornadoes were confirmed in Columbiana County, Ohio, close to the Beaver County border. The first of these was the 23rd recorded in Columbiana since 1880. The Pittsburgh region has already seen 11 confirmed tornadoes in 2025, with nine more in 2026. June has increasingly become a month of heightened severe weather activity. The storms caused damage but resulted in no reported injuries. Power was restored in most areas shortly after the outages. The region remains on alert as severe weather patterns continue to develop.
