Astana cracks down on 170+ environmental violators in a single day
Astana authorities have taken strong action against environmental violations in the city. In a single day, over 170 offenders were held administratively liable for polluting public spaces, breaking urban maintenance rules, and setting up illegal dumping grounds. The crackdown is part of ongoing preventive measures by Astana’s Prosecutor’s Office. These efforts align with the Law and Order initiative and the Clean Kazakhstan environmental program. Violations of urban maintenance rules, damage to infrastructure, or pollution of public areas are against Kazakh law and result in penalties.
During the raids, two drivers of specialised vehicles were caught using drones to dump construction waste illegally in Nura District. The offenders now face administrative penalties, such as fines and the confiscation of their vehicle licence plates until payments are made. Authorities have urged residents to follow legal requirements and treat the environment with care. The Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that enforcement of urban cleanliness and environmental regulations will continue across the city.
