AABC Europe 2026 to Unveil Breakthroughs in Battery and Energy Storage Tech

The AABC Europe 2026 conference is set to showcase the latest advancements in battery and energy storage technology. With 12 specialised tracks, 11 tutorials, and over 200 speakers, the event will bring together industry leaders and researchers to discuss innovations across electric vehicles, heavy-duty applications, and AI-driven solutions. One of the key highlights is the Battery Engineering track, which will focus on cell and pack design, safety, and battery management systems. Kenji Hosaka from Nissan will present updates on battery technology for the new LEAF, while Wieslaw Brys of Amazon Robotics will discuss real-world battery management system (BMS) data for improving safety and efficiency in operations.

The **EV Technology for Heavy-Duty Applications** track will examine battery chemistries tailored for trucks, buses, and off-highway machinery. Meanwhile, the **AI for Energy Storage** track will explore how artificial intelligence can speed up battery research and optimise the management of electric vehicle fleets. On the exhibition floor, **Purem by Eberspächer** will introduce a high-strength steel battery housing as a cost-effective and durable alternative to aluminium. **Freudenberg Sealing Technologies** will also showcase new products, including advanced cell caps and nonwoven sleeves designed for prismatic cells. The **Battery Recycling** track will address current market trends, regulatory changes, and improvements in recycling efficiency within the EU. Additionally, the **EU project FASTEST** will present its latest progress on integrating physical test benches with digital twins, a development aimed at enhancing battery development processes.

The conference will provide a platform for experts to exchange ideas on the future of battery technology. From heavy-duty electric vehicles to AI-driven research and sustainable recycling, the event will highlight practical solutions shaping the industry. Attendees will also see new materials and systems designed to improve performance, safety, and efficiency in energy storage.
