Acer's Swift 16 AI debuts with 24-hour battery and Panther Lake power
Acer has unveiled the Swift 16 AI, the first laptop powered by Intel's new Panther Lake processors. The device promises a 24-hour battery life and a range of high-end features. Pricing starts at €1,399 for a model with an Intel Core Ultra 7 chip, 16-32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage.
The Swift 16 AI will officially launch on January 27 or 28, with full pricing details for all five variants to be confirmed. It supports up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 388H processor and Arc B390 integrated graphics. Users can also choose between 16GB and 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, along with SSD storage options up to 2TB.
A standout feature is the 70Wh battery, which Acer claims can last up to 24 hours on a single charge. The laptop also includes the world's largest haptic touchpad, measuring 175.5 × 109.7 mm in a 16:10 aspect ratio. For display, there's an optional 1.8K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Later in Q2, Acer will expand the Swift series with four more AI-focused models: the Swift Go 14 AI, Swift Go 16 AI, Swift Edge 14 AI, and Swift Edge 16 AI. The Go models also advertise multi-day battery life, while the Edge variants feature slightly less powerful integrated GPUs compared to the Swift 16 AI.
Pricing for previous Swift models over the past two years has varied widely. The Swift 3 started at around $293, while the Swift 14 AI reached €1,590. The Swift Air 16 was priced at €1,149, making the new Swift 16 AI's €1,399 tag a mid-to-high-end offering.
The Swift 16 AI marks Acer's first entry into the Panther Lake market, combining long battery life with premium hardware. With its large haptic touchpad, OLED display option, and powerful processor choices, it targets users needing performance and endurance. The upcoming Swift Go and Edge models will further expand the lineup in the next quarter.
