Adesso SE joins Open Logistics Foundation to advance open-source innovation

Adesso SE has become a member of the Open Logistics Foundation. The IT service provider aims to support the development and adoption of open-source solutions in the logistics sector. A company executive highlighted the strategic importance of open source for Adesso’s business approach. The Open Logistics Foundation focuses on creating open standards using open-source code. Its projects cover areas like track-and-trace processes, digital consignment notes, and emissions data exchange. The foundation recently released its first industry-ready open-source solution for digital consignment notes.

Under the OLF licence, businesses can use, modify, and commercially deploy these solutions. Adesso will act as a solution provider and implementation partner for applications developed within the foundation. The company will also help firms integrate these tools into their existing IT systems and adapt them to specific needs.

Adesso employs more than 11,300 people across over 65 global locations. Andreas Prenneis, a member of its executive board, confirmed that open source remains a key principle for the firm’s strategy. Adesso’s involvement is expected to make open-source logistics solutions more widely accessible. The company will provide expertise to support businesses in adopting these technologies. This collaboration aims to drive innovation in the logistics industry through open standards.
