Anapa's beaches declared oil-free as cleanup efforts show success in 2025

Authorities in the Krasnodar Region have denied claims of fresh fuel oil spills along resort beaches in Anapa. The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that no new contamination has been detected in the area for over three months. Daily monitoring continues to ensure the safety of coastal zones for visitors and wildlife alike.

The ministry's daily inspections cover the shoreline of Anapa and the Temryuk District. Officials confirmed that no fuel oil spills have been recorded since early 2025. The focus remains on maintaining cleanliness across all public sandy beaches.

Throughout spring, summer, and autumn 2025, mechanised teams conducted systematic cleanups on every public beach in Anapa. While the exact number of beaches treated and the specific methods used remain undisclosed, the effort aimed to remove any lingering oil residues. Separately, researchers are examining how petroleum products behave in protected natural areas, where heavy machinery cannot operate due to environmental restrictions.

Fragments of fuel oil have been found only in these restricted zones, far from tourist spots. By late spring to early summer, all official beaches will undergo assessments to confirm their suitability for recreational use.

The ministry's ongoing monitoring and cleanup operations aim to keep Anapa's beaches safe for visitors. Official assessments will soon determine which areas are fully ready for public use. Meanwhile, research into oil residue removal continues in environmentally sensitive locations.
