Astana to Launch Summer Cycling Season with 21-Kilometer Ride on April 25

Astana's summer cycling season begins with a free 21K community ride

Astana will officially kick off its summer cycling season on April 25, according to the city's akimat (mayor's office) website.

To mark the occasion, the capital will host a 21-kilometer bike ride, starting from the circular cycling path near Koshy and finishing at Green Belt Park in the Ilinka (Urker) residential area.

Registration will take place on the day of the event—April 25—from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM, with the ride scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM sharp. Participation is limited to 700 cyclists.

This year's event is part of the national campaigns Clean Kazakhstan (Taza Qazaqstan) and Law and Order.

Residents and visitors of all ages are welcome to join free of charge—all they need is their own bicycle.

More than just a ride, the event aims to promote healthy living, foster community spirit, and raise environmental awareness.

"Since the route is confined to the park, there will be no traffic restrictions on city streets," noted Madina Aitkalieva, press secretary for Astana's Department of Physical Culture and Sports.

After the ride, registered participants will have the chance to win valuable prizes in a lottery draw.
