A citywide volunteer cleanup took place in Astana on April 25 as part of the republican environmental initiative Taza Qazaqstan ("Clean Kazakhstan"), according to the capital's mayoral administration.
At the intersection of Kumisbekov Street and Abai Avenue, volunteers planted trees in a coordinated effort. Over 100 employees from the city's major shopping and entertainment centers—including Asia Park, Saryarka, Koktal, Aruzhan, Khan Shatyr, Etalon, and Astanalyk—took part in the event, planting 350 saplings.
Adil Kapsalyamov, head of the Trade and Services Department at Astana's Investment and Entrepreneurship Development Agency, emphasized the campaign's importance:
"Initiatives like this bring together residents and businesses around a shared goal—improving the capital's environmental health. When employees of shopping and entertainment centers contribute to urban greening, they are fostering an eco-conscious culture and demonstrating responsible stewardship of the environment."
