Central Luzon Hospital Expands with New Tropical Disease and Lab Facilities

A major hospital in Central Luzon has opened new facilities to strengthen its response to infectious diseases. The expansion includes a dedicated centre for tropical medicine and a high-tech referral laboratory. Officials say the upgrades will improve detection, treatment, and patient care across the region. The newly launched Center for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine offers specialised care with isolation beds, an intensive care unit, and hemodialysis facilities. It also features an operating room, a delivery room, and dedicated isolation wards for high-risk patients.

The Central Luzon Infectious Disease Referral Laboratory now provides advanced testing for a wide range of illnesses. These include respiratory infections, vaccine-preventable diseases, dengue, leptospirosis, mpox, HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and drug-resistant tuberculosis. The expanded facilities will allow the hospital to handle more cases and respond faster to disease outbreaks. Patients in Central Luzon will now have access to better diagnostic services and specialised treatment for infectious conditions.
