Crimson Desert's Re-blockade system reshapes stronghold progression in Patch 1.05.00
Crimson Desert’s latest update has introduced a major change to how players progress through the game. Patch 1.05.00 rolled out the Re-blockade system, altering the way strongholds behave after being liberated. The new mechanic affects 23 quarries and forts, now contested by 13 different factions. The Re-blockade system activates under specific conditions. It triggers after players save and reload their game or skip time by sleeping. Once activated, previously liberated strongholds can be recaptured by enemy factions.
The system offers three distinct modes: Stable, Conflict, and War. The default setting, Conflict, provides a balanced experience where strongholds are occasionally retaken. Stable mode, however, disables the Re-blockade mechanic entirely. Meanwhile, War mode escalates the challenge by increasing the frequency of recaptured strongholds, keeping players in a near-constant state of conflict.
Developers have confirmed that this system will evolve over time. Future patches will expand the number of participating factions and targeted strongholds. Enemy threat levels are also expected to rise as the mechanic develops further. The Re-blockade system marks a shift in Crimson Desert’s gameplay dynamics. Players must now adapt to strongholds changing hands based on in-game time and actions. The developers plan to refine and expand the feature in upcoming updates.
