December 12, 2025 – Latest updates fromKhabarovsk Territory Today**

The peak of the Geminid meteor shower is expected on the night of December 13–14. According to the Khabarovsk Territory Today news agency, this celestial event is one of the most powerful annual meteor showers, active from December 4 to 17.

Unlike most other meteor showers, the Geminids do not originate from a comet.

Residents of the region will have two chances to make a wish upon a shooting star this December. The first opportunity comes this weekend, while the second arrives later in the month with the Ursid meteor shower.
