Dreieich and Neu-Isenburg celebrate record tree donations in 2025

A record number of trees were donated last year in Dreieich and Neu-Isenburg. The initiative, run through an online portal, saw 40 individuals and groups contribute 60 new trees to local green spaces. Officials have praised the strong public backing for urban greenery in both towns.

The donated trees—including maples, oaks, lindens, and zelkovas—were planted in late autumn 2025. They now stand in municipal parks, playgrounds, traffic areas, and daycare centres. A total of 45 trees went to Dreieich, while 15 were added in Neu-Isenburg.

Residents and businesses could donate a tree for €500, covering purchase, planting, and early care. The Dreieich Land Management Office (DLB) manages the scheme, updating its donation portal each August with new planting sites. An interactive map on the DLB’s website lets donors browse locations, species, and reference numbers before choosing. At a ceremony, local leaders thanked supporters. Dreieich Mayor Martin Burlon, First Councilor Holger Dechert, and Neu-Isenburg First Councilor Stefan Schmitt joined DLB representatives in recognising the contributors. Several citizens spoke on behalf of all donors, highlighting the community’s commitment to expanding green areas.

The 60 new trees mark the highest number of donations since the programme began. Local authorities see this as clear evidence of growing support for urban forestry. The next round of donations will open when new planting sites are listed in August.
