Ecommpay's Express Checkout now supports Apple Pay and Google Pay

Ecommpay has introduced Express Checkout options for Apple Pay and Google Pay. These new features aim to speed up the payment process for customers. Merchants can now offer faster and more secure transactions within their own checkout experience. The new Express Checkout options reduce payment friction by cutting the number of steps needed to complete a purchase. Customers can pay using their trusted digital wallet with a single tap, often finishing in just seconds. Their wallet opens automatically, allowing stored payment, billing, and delivery details to be used where available.

Merchants can integrate Apple Pay and Google Pay buttons directly into their checkout flow. This lets eligible customers choose these payment methods earlier in their shopping journey, not just on the final payment page. The change is expected to help guest customers, who make up 59% of orders, avoid manually entering their details each time.

Research shows that single-page checkouts already have a higher conversion rate of 61%, compared to 56% for multi-page checkouts. By adding Express Checkout, merchants can further reduce friction while benefiting from the security features built into digital wallets. The update allows merchants to present Apple Pay and Google Pay at multiple points in the buying process. This could lead to quicker purchases and fewer abandoned carts. Customers will also enjoy a smoother experience with less manual data entry.
