Employees of FESCO Transportation Group took part in a coastal cleanup in Vladivostok on June 5. The effort targeted floating debris in Golden Horn Bay, near the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port. This year, volunteers have also cleared waste from multiple sites, including Young Pioneers Square and Russky Island. For two hours, workers and members of the company’s Youth Council removed rubbish from the water. Most of the collected waste included plastic packaging, bottles, fishing nets, and wooden planks. Environmentalists noted a sharp drop in debris compared to previous years.

The port’s environmental team regularly maintains cleanliness in the harbour and surrounding areas. Yelena Ryabokon, head of the port’s industrial ecology department, linked the improvement to fewer pollutants entering from the Obyasneniya River. Beyond cleanups, the team supports ecological projects, such as releasing young chum salmon and scallop larvae into the wild. The port ensures strict adherence to environmental regulations in all operations. Recent efforts have expanded to include Tokarevskaya Spit and parts of the Land of the Leopard National Park.

The cleanup reflects ongoing work to protect Vladivostok’s coastal environment. Reduced river pollutants and active volunteer participation have led to visibly cleaner waters. The port’s environmental initiatives continue to address both waste removal and wildlife conservation.
