Led by certified dark-sky guide Monika Koch, the session will explore winter constellations, planets, and ancient astronomical discoveries. Participants can register now through the local tourist office. The evening will focus on six key winter constellations, along with the gas giants Jupiter and Saturn. Koch will also explain the importance of the Pleiades star cluster and the Nebra Sky Disk’s role in early calendar systems. The event is expected to last between 1.5 and 2 hours, including a short 1 km walk.
Attendees should prepare for cold weather by dressing warmly and bringing a blanket, camping stool, or picnic mat. A red-light torch or headlamp is advised to preserve night vision.
