Two five-month-old Himalayan bear cubs have been relocated from Primorsky Krai to Yekaterinburg Zoo. The transfer took place on June 5 after weeks of preparation and veterinary checks. Both cubs were confirmed healthy before their journey began. The cubs had been living at the Tiger Rehabilitation Center in Alexeyevka since March. They were part of a group of four Himalayan bear cubs involved in a wider relocation effort. Before departure, officials from Rosselkhoznadzor carried out a full veterinary inspection at Vladivostok Airport.
The agency verified that the cubs were in good condition and met all transport regulations. Once cleared, the brothers were flown out of Vladivostok, completing their move to Yekaterinburg Zoo.
The relocation marks the end of their time at the rehabilitation centre. The cubs will now settle into their new home at the zoo. Officials ensured the process followed strict health and safety standards.
