JCB, the British family-run manufacturer, is expanding its presence in Australia with a major new partnership. The company has signed a deal with Adaptalift Group to become its national dealer, marking a significant investment in the region. Leaders from both firms gathered in Melbourne to announce the agreement and outline its benefits for Australian customers. The expansion was officially confirmed at a signing ceremony in Melbourne, attended by George Bamford, JCB's Deputy Chairman. He highlighted the move as part of the company's broader strategy to strengthen its global reputation and grow in key markets. JCB, long seen as a symbol of UK manufacturing strength, is now doubling down on its commitment to Australia.
Graeme Macdonald, JCB's Chief Executive, stated that customers will notice a clear improvement in service quality. The partnership with Adaptalift Group, a well-established Australian operator, aims to reduce machine downtime and deliver faster, more reliable support. Lindsay Whiffen, Adaptalift's Chief Executive, described the collaboration as a blend of British engineering excellence and local operational know-how.
JCB is also boosting its logistics network, including new warehouses and a partnership with DHL Supply Chain to improve spare parts distribution. By 2026, Adaptalift will operate 18 branches across Australia, covering major cities like Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, as well as regional hubs such as Darwin, Townsville, and Newcastle. Tim Burnhope, JCB's Managing Director of Sales, emphasised that the scale of investment demonstrates the company's long-term dedication to the Australian market. The deal will see Adaptalift Group represent JCB in key locations, ensuring wider coverage and better access to equipment and services. With faster support and an expanded logistics network, Australian customers are set to benefit from improved efficiency. The move reinforces JCB's position as a global leader in manufacturing while deepening its roots in Australia.
