K92 Mining Inc. has appointed Michael Carew to its Board of Directors. The decision was made at the company’s annual general meeting. Carew brings over 25 years of experience in the mining sector to the role. Carew is a geologist with a strong academic background. He earned a BSc (Hons) from Monash University and a PhD in Economic Geology from James Cook University. His career spans major and junior mining firms, including BHP Billiton Limited and Ivanhoe Mines Ltd.

Most recently, he served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Great Pacific Gold Corp, an explorer based in Papua New Guinea. He also holds directorships at Military Metals Corp., where he sits on the Audit Committee, and acts as CEO of Walhalla Gold Corp. His expertise includes due diligence for exploration projects and senior corporate development roles. K92 Mining operates the Kainantu Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea, producing gold, copper, and silver. The company declared commercial production at the site in February 2018. It is now working towards becoming a Tier 1 mid-tier producer. John Lewins, K92’s Chief Executive Officer, highlighted Carew’s extensive industry knowledge. He noted that this experience would provide valuable guidance for K92’s growth plans.

Carew’s appointment adds depth to K92’s leadership as the company expands its operations. His background in both technical and corporate roles is expected to support K92’s aim of increasing production and strengthening its market position.
