Kazakhstan's Akmola Region Unveils Three New Eco-Parks in 2024

Three new eco-parks are taking shape in Kazakhstan’s Akmola Region this year. The projects aim to boost local tourism and provide more outdoor recreation options. One site in Zerenda has already opened its doors to visitors. The first eco-park in Zerenda is now operational, offering walking trails, sports areas, and relaxation zones. Located near Lake Zerenda and Kokshetau National Park, it provides easy access to nature. Plans for expansion include longer hiking routes and a viewing platform on Smolnaya Hill.

A second eco-park is under construction in Akkol, covering 60 hectares. Scheduled for completion by 1 August, it will feature glamping sites, guest lodges, and nature trails. The project focuses on sustainable tourism and outdoor activities.

Meanwhile, a third eco-park is being developed in Tselinograd. Spanning 55 hectares, it will include family-friendly recreation areas, wildlife observation spots, and sports facilities. These three parks are part of a broader initiative to create seven eco-parks across the region by 2028. The new eco-parks will expand leisure and tourism opportunities in Akmola. With four more sites planned by 2028, the region is set to become a key destination for ecotourism in Kazakhstan. The projects aim to attract visitors while preserving natural landscapes.
