Kazakhstan's Akzhar District unites for record-breaking cleanup drive

More than 1,500 residents across the region took to the streets simultaneously to clean up after winter. The large-scale initiative brought together villages and district centers, transforming streets, courtyards, and boulevards in just one day.

The environmental campaign "Let's Clean Up the District" was part of the national "Clean Kazakhstan" drive. With the arrival of warm weather, locals eagerly joined the seasonal cleanup effort. Participants included district council deputies, members of the Amanat party, young people, volunteers, and rural residents.

Work unfolded across multiple districts at once. Volunteers cleared streets of litter, tidied up areas around schools, hospitals, and other social facilities, collected and removed household waste, and improved green spaces.

The campaign was especially active in Akzhar District, where activists, civil servants, and local residents joined the large-scale cleanup from early morning. According to Yermek Kairzhanov, executive secretary of the district branch of the Amanat party, such initiatives are crucial not only for maintaining sanitation but also for fostering environmental awareness.

"It's important to make the most of the warm season to improve our surroundings," he said. "The district's residents have shown they are ready to unite for a common cause—to make their communities cleaner."

As part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign, the region has already held over 400 events, collecting more than 600 tons of waste.
