Khabarovsk Krai has rolled out an AI-powered monitoring system across its sports facilities. The new technology, designed to improve safety and efficiency, is now active at the Yerofei Arena and nearby sites. Cameras, data syncing, and real-time analytics form the core of this digital upgrade. The system uses facial recognition cameras to track attendance and enhance security. Officials claim the technology achieves 95% accuracy in identifying visitors. Video feeds are analysed in real time, with data stored securely in the cloud.
Beyond the arena, a ‘smart’ sports ground and a modular gym have been linked to the network. The setup syncs with athletes’ digital profiles, recording training frequency and intensity. This integration extends to the ‘My Sport’ information system and Russia’s Ministry of Sport. Real-time occupancy monitoring helps managers spot peak hours and adjust schedules. The project also aims to introduce AI-driven oversight for infrastructure maintenance and visitor safety. Plans include future integration with a newly opened phygital centre.
The Yerofei Arena is the first facility in the region to adopt this digital transformation. The system’s video analytics and cloud archiving provide a foundation for smarter sports management. Authorities expect the technology to streamline operations and improve user experience across Khabarovsk Krai.
