Khabarovsk's new gas pipeline fuels cleaner energy for CHPP-4 power plant
A major gas pipeline project is underway in Khabarovsk. The 14-kilometre route will link the Gorky-2 Gas Distribution Station to the city’s under-construction CHPP-4 power plant. The aim is to switch the boiler plant to natural gas for cleaner and more efficient energy production. Construction of the intersettlement pipeline has led to road closures. Aerdromnaya Street will be shut to traffic from 10 June to 27 August. During this period, public transport will use Promyvchnaya Street instead.
Temporary bus stops have already been set up along the rerouted section. Once the main work finishes, the contractor will restore the area. This includes repairing the road surface, sidewalks, and installing permanent bus stops. The pipeline will supply natural gas to Khabarovsk CHPP-4. This change is set to reduce emissions and improve the plant’s efficiency. The road and transport adjustments will remain in place until the project is complete.
