Korean Air, 4 affiliated airlines to offer in-flight Starlink service next year

Korean Air and partners to launch Starlink internet on flights by 2026

Korean Air and four partner airlines will introduce SpaceX’s Starlink internet service on flights from 2026. This marks the first time a Korean carrier has adopted the technology for passenger use. Travellers can expect faster and more reliable in-flight connectivity as a result. The rollout will begin with Korean Air and Asiana, focusing first on long-haul aircraft. Their B777-300ER and A350-900 planes will receive the Starlink system before other models. Korean Air plans to complete installation across its entire fleet by the end of 2027.

Jin Air will start with its B737-8 jets, while Air Busan and Air Seoul are still assessing which planes to prioritise. Starlink’s network relies on low Earth orbit satellites, delivering high-speed, low-latency internet to passengers mid-flight. The service aims to provide seamless browsing, streaming, and communication during travel. All five airlines will gradually expand coverage across their routes over the coming years.

Passengers on Korean Air and its affiliates will gain access to improved in-flight internet from 2026. The phased installation will cover long-haul and regional fleets, with full deployment expected by 2027. This move positions the airlines among the first in Asia to adopt Starlink’s satellite-based connectivity.
