Krasnodar readies 1,600 summer camps with stricter safety and social aid

Authorities in the Krasnodar region are preparing for the summer health campaign, with plans to welcome over 1,600 children's camps. A regional commission led by Deputy Governor Yelena Vorobyova has outlined key steps to ensure safe and well-organised stays. The initiative also includes stricter oversight of facilities and expanded social benefits for families in need. The interagency commission met to address preparations for this year's summer health programme. A total of 1,602 camps—including residential, day, work-and-study, and tent facilities—will host children from across the region. Officials were instructed to prioritise vulnerable groups, such as large families, children of special military operation participants, and those facing financial hardship.

Vorobyova stressed the importance of resolving all outstanding issues by June 1. This includes securing timely epidemiological certifications, organising quality meals, and ensuring engaging activities and educational programmes. She also called for stricter controls to prevent children from being placed in unlicensed or unregistered camps. Parents can apply for social benefits to offset the cost of independently purchased voucher-based stays. Compensation amounts will vary depending on family status. Applications must be submitted through local social services offices or the MFC. Meanwhile, the region is also preparing for Anapa's full reopening. Rospotrebnadzor has approved beaches for a pilot sand replenishment project, with the government commission expanding the initiative to improve coastal areas.

The summer health campaign aims to provide safe and structured recreational opportunities for thousands of children. With stricter licensing checks and expanded financial support, officials seek to ensure smooth operations before the June 1 deadline. The programme will also coincide with broader efforts to enhance Anapa's beaches ahead of the tourist season.
