Krasnoyarsk Museum Unveils Immersive Space Exhibit and Planetarium

Krasnoyarsk Opens Planetarium Featuring Space Films and Meteorite Exhibits

A new immersive planetarium and meteorite exhibition have officially opened at the Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum.

December 13, 2025

Residents and visitors of Krasnoyarsk can now explore the history of space exploration and astronomical phenomena up close.

The planetarium offers a 30-minute fulldome film on the conquest of space, along with other screenings.

The one-hour program "How Siberia Touched the Cosmos" consists of two parts: a guided tour of the largest meteorite collection east of the Urals—featuring stories of the Tunguska Event, archival documents, photographs, and natural specimens—followed by a 30-minute fulldome film on the history of space exploration, complete with stunning audiovisual effects.

The planetarium's lobby also hosts an exhibition by test cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, who was the first visitor to the new facility. He donated items from orbit to the museum, including flags, photographs, space socks, mission patches, and a 3D-printed cube.

Starting December 13, the planetarium will operate daily except Mondays. On weekdays, there are three sessions (12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM), while weekends offer five (12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:00 PM). Each session accommodates up to 18 visitors.

A detailed December schedule is available on the museum's website for astronomy enthusiasts in Krasnoyarsk.
