Magadan's Eco-Selfie Contest Inspires Kids to Protect Nature

The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment of Magadan Region has launched a new eco-selfie contest for young participants. Titled Caring for Nature, the competition invites children aged 5 to 17 to capture themselves taking part in environmental activities. The event is part of the 2026 Regional Environmental Festival and runs from May 10 to June 10. The contest, themed Eco-Action, encourages participants to submit a selfie while engaging in eco-friendly actions. These could include planting trees, cleaning parks, or other green initiatives. Each child may enter only one photo, which must be in JPG or JPEG format.

All submissions must be sent to **[email protected]** alongside a signed consent form for personal data processing. Photos containing watermarks, borders, captions, dates, or heavy edits—including photomontages and AI-generated images—will be rejected. Entries must also avoid sponsor references, trademarks, advertising, political content, or degrading material. Participants grant the organisers permission to store their data and use their submitted materials. Those using @gmail.com addresses or failing to include a consent form will be disqualified. Winning entries will be featured on the ministry’s official website. Winners will also receive diplomas and valuable prizes.

The contest closes on June 10, 2026, with results announced afterward. Selected photos will be displayed online, and winners will be awarded for their contributions. The initiative aims to promote environmental awareness among young people in the region.
