The Middle East Alliance for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Congress (MEAPEN 2026) began on June 4 in Dubai. Organised by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, the two-day event has drawn over 500 healthcare professionals from 15 countries. This year’s edition highlights the latest advancements in nutrition science, with a special focus on artificial intelligence and digital health in clinical practice. Dr. Wafaa Helmi Ayesh, President of MEAPEN, officially opened the congress. In her speech, she stressed the significance of this year’s theme and its relevance to modern healthcare challenges. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hasher Al Maktoum also attended the opening ceremony, marking the event’s regional importance.

The programme includes 17 scientific sessions led by 70 expert speakers. Topics span a wide range of nutrition-related disciplines, from clinical practice to emerging research. Delegates have the opportunity to earn 28 Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits, accredited by the Dubai Health Authority. Alongside the lectures, the congress features over 50 poster presentations. These showcase cutting-edge research in nutrition science. The event is supported by global organisations such as the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) and the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN).

MEAPEN 2026 wraps up on June 5 after two days of discussions and knowledge-sharing. The congress has provided a platform for professionals to explore innovations in nutrition, particularly the role of AI and digital tools. Attendees leave with accredited training and insights into the future of clinical nutrition.
