Mexico City's light rail resumes after protest disruptions and clean-up

Mexico City's Electric Transport System (STE) has restarted light rail services after recent disruptions. The line now runs in both directions between Tasqueña and Xochimilco. Clean-up efforts followed protests that had blocked parts of the route. Search collectives marched along Calzada de Tlalpan toward Mexico City Stadium to demand action from authorities. The demonstration focused on the plight of missing persons and their families.

Following the protests, STE staff cleared debris from the tracks and cleaned affected stations. These efforts allowed the restoration of full light rail operations. The light rail service is now fully functional again. Passengers can travel between Tasqueña and Xochimilco without interruption. Authorities have not yet responded publicly to the collectives' demands.
