Nizhny Novgorod Launches Bold Youth Initiative to Unlock Potential
A new youth development initiative called Pathfinders of Meaning: A New Route has launched in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The programme forms part of the broader national project Youth and Children, which aims to help young people unlock their potential and develop their talents. The project is organised by Rosmolodezh and the Directorate for Youth Forums and Programs. It will run in two phases during 2026—spring and autumn—with over 500 interactive sessions planned. These sessions will blend real-life scenarios, success stories, and hands-on activities tailored to the region's needs.
The initiative targets at least 10,000 high school students and 5,000 vocational college students across 18 municipalities between April and June. University undergraduates will also take part. Leading the sessions are *Pathfinders of Meaning* teams, made up of youth specialists, educators, and facilitators who completed federal online training. The programme is one of nine federal projects under *Youth and Children*, including *Russia: A Land of Opportunity*, *We Are Together*, and *Universities for a Generation of Leaders*. Its goals include building and renovating schools, improving teacher qualifications, introducing modern teaching methods, and supporting gifted students.
The initiative will engage thousands of young people in youth policy and regional projects. By combining practical training with expert-led sessions, it seeks to create long-term opportunities for talent development in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
