Nuevo León's Water Park debuts as a sustainability and conservation landmark

Nuevo León has unveiled the first phase of its ambitious Water Park, a groundbreaking project designed to transform 80 hectares of land. Governor Samuel García and First Lady Mariana Rodríguez officially inaugurated the site, which stands as a model for sustainability and water conservation. The park operates on three key principles: capturing as much rainwater as possible, promoting long-term sustainability, and protecting local plants and wildlife. Its advanced system collects, recycles, and redistributes rainwater, supplying neighbouring communities while setting a global example in water management.

Located next to Fundidora Park, the Water Park integrates with Estadio Monterrey and includes a pedestrian bridge linking to the DIF Capullos community centre. The first phase features an amphitheatre, offering family-friendly recreation with a focus on accessibility and environmental responsibility. With an investment of 2.92 billion pesos, the project also includes the Nuevo León Pavilion, set to welcome international visitors during the upcoming World Cup celebrations. The park’s emphasis on green spaces and eco-conscious design reinforces its role as a sustainability leader in the region.

The Water Park’s first phase is now open, combining recreation, conservation, and innovation. Its rainwater recycling system and green infrastructure aim to benefit both the environment and local residents. The project will continue to develop as a key attraction for tourists and a benchmark for sustainable urban planning.
