Pine Bush Still Glows as the East Coast's UFO Hotspot After 60 Years

Pine Bush, New York, has long been called the 'UFO Capital of the East Coast'. For over 60 years, the small town has drawn sky-watchers and believers after countless reports of strange lights and unexplained objects. One spot in particular—West Searsville Road—remains a hotspot for those hoping to catch a glimpse of something unusual.

The town first gained widespread attention during the 'Hudson Valley UFO Flap' in the early to mid-1980s. On March 24, 1983, more than 300 people described seeing a massive, silent V-shaped craft with multicoloured lights hovering overhead. Reports came from pilots, police officers, and other trained observers, adding weight to the claims.

The persistent sightings even caught the attention of legendary UFO researcher Dr. J. Allen Hynek. Though no official records from the Pine Bush UFO & Paranormal Museum or local authorities have surfaced since the 1960s, the stories have kept the town's reputation alive.

In 2021, the Pine Bush UFO & Paranormal Museum opened its doors, offering exhibits on the area's long history of strange encounters. The museum, along with local partners, now hosts regular sky-watching nights and group stargazing events. Every June, the town celebrates its unusual legacy with an annual UFO Festival, complete with a parade, costume contests, lectures, and activities for children.

Pine Bush continues to attract visitors curious about its UFO lore. The museum and yearly festival ensure the town's paranormal history remains a focal point for enthusiasts. With decades of reports and ongoing interest, the area's reputation as a UFO hotspot shows no signs of fading.
