Primorsky Krai welcomes 245 newborns in a single record-breaking week

Primorsky Krai welcomed 245 newborns between April 20 and 26, including one baby who became the ninth child in a large family from Nadezhdinsky District. A girl weighing 3,580 grams (7.9 pounds) and measuring 53 centimeters (21 inches) was born at the Primorsky Regional Perinatal Center, with the delivery proceeding smoothly, according to the regional government's press service.

"Labor went well. It's a girl. The family from Nadezhdinsky District has already been discharged home," the statement read.

Of the total newborns, 137 were boys and 101 were girls. For 103 couples, this was their first child; 92 families welcomed a second baby, while 34 had their third. Another 30 families celebrated the arrival of fourth, fifth, and even seventh children. One set of twins was also recorded.

The heaviest newborn of the week was a girl delivered at Vladivostok Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 3, weighing 4,790 grams (10.6 pounds).

Meanwhile, doctors at the Primorsky Regional Perinatal Center continue to successfully care for a baby girl born with an extremely low birth weight—just 460 grams (1 pound). Thanks to advanced medical technology and the expertise of the medical team, Yekaterina has already reached 1.9 kilograms (4.2 pounds).
