Russia Plans Interactive Map to Locate Safe and Legal Barbecue Spots Nationwide
Russian lawmakers have proposed creating an interactive map to help citizens find legal and safe barbecue spots. The tool would bring together scattered information on outdoor cooking areas while also improving fire safety awareness across the country. The initiative comes after concerns over inconsistent rules across different regions and municipalities. Currently, restrictions on barbecues vary widely, leaving many unsure about where they can legally cook outdoors. A formal request has already been sent to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development to move the project forward.
If approved, the map would be hosted on the Gosuslugi public services portal. It would clearly mark designated picnic areas equipped for safe barbecuing. Users could also book these spots directly through the platform. Beyond location details, the map would include real-time updates on fire hazard seasons and any special safety measures in place. This feature aims to help citizens follow fire regulations more easily while enjoying outdoor activities.
The proposal seeks to simplify access to barbecue-friendly zones and reduce confusion over local rules. By centralising information and adding booking options, the map would make public spaces more user-friendly. It would also reinforce fire safety by keeping citizens informed of seasonal risks and restrictions.
