Novorossiysk Police Uncover Virtual Intimacy Scam

In Novorossiysk, police have detained a 22-year-old man from Orenburg Oblast suspected of remote fraud. A local resident fell victim to the scammer after attempting to order intimate services online. He transferred a prepayment of around 80,000 rubles but never received the service, according to the regional Interior Ministry press office.

The fraudster created a fake account offering intimate services. After receiving the money, he cut off all contact.

A criminal case for fraud has been opened, and the suspect faces up to five years in prison.

Police are now investigating whether the detainee is linked to other similar crimes.

Earlier, a resident of Penza lost money after an online conversation with a woman. He admitted that their acquaintance quickly turned intimate, including the exchange of explicit photos. Soon after, the woman began blackmailing him, threatening to leak the "adult content" unless he transferred 800 rubles to a specified account.
