The district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen has launched the third edition of its Energy Savings Guide. This updated version now includes an interactive online brochure alongside printed copies. Residents can access practical advice on cutting energy use and adopting sustainable technologies. The new guide has been redesigned with a modern look and updated content. It aligns with the latest standards in sustainability and energy efficiency. Topics covered include heat pumps, municipal heat planning, and renewable electricity generation.

Practical tools are also featured, such as a carbon footprint calculator, a solar calculator, and the Klima-Taler app. The guide provides a modernization calculator from Rhön-Rennsteig Sparkasse to help homeowners plan upgrades. Direct links to relevant laws, funding schemes, and local advisors are included in the digital version. A limited number of printed copies are available at the District Administration Office in Meiningen. Additional copies can be picked up at branch offices in Schmalkalden and Charlottenstraße 5a. The digital guide is free to download from the district’s website at www.lra-sm.de/energy-savings-guide.

The updated guide offers clear advice on saving energy and integrating green technologies. Residents can use the tools and resources to assess their own energy use and explore funding options. The district’s Energy Working Group developed this edition to support local sustainability efforts.
