Sugarcane farmers explore tech-driven solutions at Hardoi seminar for higher yields

Over 400 sugarcane farmers gathered in Sawayajpur, Hardoi, for a seminar on 'Sugarcane Challenges and the Way Forward'. The event was organised by Dhanuka Agritech Limited. It aimed to promote modern agricultural technologies and scientific farming practices to boost productivity and farmer incomes. The seminar featured speeches from prominent figures, including Sawayajpur MLA Madhavendra Pratap Singh. He stressed the need for advanced technologies, quality inputs, and scientific guidance to ensure sustainable prosperity in the region.

Dr. R. G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech Limited, spoke about the future of Indian agriculture. He argued that science-based farming was essential for progress. His advice included improving soil fertility with organic matter, conserving water through drip and sprinkler irrigation, and using high-quality seeds alongside crop diversification.

Experts from various institutions and government departments provided practical guidance. Topics covered improved sugarcane varieties, nutrient and water management, pest control, disease prevention, and timely harvesting. Singh also highlighted sugarcane as a vital cash crop, urging farmers to adopt modern techniques to increase yields and strengthen their economic position.

Dhanuka’s drone spraying services were demonstrated as a solution for dense sugarcane fields. These drones make spraying easier in areas where manual methods are difficult. The seminar emphasised the increasing role of technology in transforming sugarcane farming. It offered farmers practical tools and knowledge to improve their livelihoods. The event reinforced the connection between scientific practices and higher agricultural productivity.
