SumUp's Solo Lite card reader launches in the UK for mobile businesses

SumUp has introduced its latest card reader, the Solo Lite, in the UK. The device is now accessible across Europe, targeting small businesses and mobile traders. With a focus on simplicity, the company supports over 4 million merchants worldwide with tools like this one.

The Solo Lite is designed for portability, making it ideal for food trucks, market stalls, and other on-the-go businesses. Its long-lasting battery can handle over 1,000 transactions on a single charge, while a tough Corning® Gorilla® screen ensures durability.

Merchants using the device can accept all major payment methods, including contactless and mobile payments. The system also links to the SumUp app, letting users track sales, issue refunds, and monitor performance in real time.

Payouts arrive the next day, and earnings can be spent directly through the SumUp Business Account. The reader costs £25 upfront, with a small fee applied per transaction. It is currently available on the SumUp website and will expand to retailers across Europe in the second quarter of 2026.

By February 2026, the Solo Lite will be offered in 27 European countries, from Austria and Belgium to Sweden and Switzerland. SumUp's goal is to provide straightforward, reliable tools for businesses of all sizes.

The Solo Lite joins SumUp's range of payment solutions, designed to streamline operations for entrepreneurs. Its combination of mobility, fast payouts, and broad payment compatibility aims to meet the needs of modern small businesses. The device is now accessible online, with wider retail availability coming soon.
