SWISSto12 achieves record growth and satellite innovation in 2025

SWISSto12 has marked a year of rapid growth and innovation in 2025. The company expanded its operations, launched new technology, and secured key leadership appointments. Its achievements were also recognised at a major industry event in Washington DC. The year began with the opening of a new facility in Madrid, designed to speed up satellite and terminal development. Around the same time, the firm upgraded its mission-control centre in Georgia, boosting operational capabilities.

In early 2025, SWISSto12 introduced HummingLink-SOTP, an ultra-light portable terminal for GEO satellites. The device uses the company’s own 3D-printed radio frequency technology. Later in the year, the HummingSat platform was chosen for NEASTAR-1, APAC’s first satellite-to-device GEO system.

Progress continued on the first four HummingSat GEO satellites, built for SES and Viasat. These are now entering the Critical Design Review phase, with flight hardware assembly set to begin in early 2026.

The company also strengthened its leadership team. Steve Collar, former SES CEO, took on the role of Chairman, while SATCOM veteran Fredrik Gustavsson joined as Chief Financial and Strategy Officer. By the end of 2025, SWISSto12 had grown its workforce by 38% and reported a 40% increase in revenue.

The year’s highlights culminated in March when CEO Dr. Emile de Rijk received the Satellite Executive of the Year award at Satellite 2025 in Washington DC. SWISSto12’s expansion in 2025 included new facilities, leadership hires, and technological advancements. The company’s revenue and workforce grew significantly, while its HummingSat programme moved closer to launch. These developments position the firm for further progress in the satellite industry.
