Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Addresses Regional Environmental Summit Plenary Session

Tokayev Urges Global Unity for a Sustainable Future at Astana Summit

Opening his remarks to summit delegates and participants, President Tokayev emphasized the importance of this platform for dialogue.

"Today, on Earth Day, we have gathered in Astana to reaffirm our shared responsibility for protecting our planet. This means that the nations of our region deeply recognize the urgency and extraordinary significance of shaping a common vision for a sustainable future. Modern ecology is not limited to climate issues alone—it is the very foundation of humanity's existence. We are talking about clean air and safe water, healthy soil and a resilient food system, the stability of communities, and the well-being of future generations. It also concerns clarity of mind, social harmony, and human happiness. In this broad sense, ecology is a way of life rooted in a responsible attitude toward our shared planet. That is why today's summit is both timely and essential," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
